Mind Garden

This is the Green Minds garden. It is planted on the site of the kitchen garden belonging to the Priory House when it was a private home. There were pear trees, vegetables, fruit and flowers grown here, but when the buildings were purchased from Lord Camden for the diocese in the 1930s the garden was landscaped and the kitchen garden disappeared. It had become overgrown and needed love and tender care. We began work on it in December 2019; it is designed as a peaceful place with stimulation for all the senses. There are medicinal and edible plants with amazing smells, textures, and tastes, beautiful flowers, and places to sit and enjoy it all. There is a heritage vegetable garden that sits below the blocked-up 13th century window of Priory House. In it grows a huge range of edible plants and flowers. The Mind garden is a place for volunteers to work, heal, and find peace. We hope that you find peace here too.
