Joining the Friends
The Friends of Brecon Cathedral is a registered charity (charity number 1013676) which, together with the Cathedral Chapter, aims to fund work that contributes to the life of Brecon Cathedral. This will often take the form of care for its fabric and environment but can also include projects that enhance the worship and community of the Cathedral. Historic churches across Wales and England face straitened times, and sadly Brecon Cathedral is no exception to this. The Friends provides support to the Dean and Chapter and the wider Cathedral community, therefore, in helping the historic building to survive and flourish, in supporting worship and choral activities, and in financing activities which will allow the Cathedral to grow.
Recent contributions have included:
- Support for the Mind Ecotherapy group’s work in the Cathedral grounds
- Funding the purchase of plants for a new flowerbed
- Installation of the Cathedral kitchen and toilets
- Renovating the Coppock gates on Priory Hill.
