Janet to lead Church in Wales golfers after tournament win
Rev'd Janet Day will be leading the Church in Wales golf team against their Church of England counterparts after winning a national tournament.
Janet, who is assistant curate in the Irfon, Wye and Edw Ministry Area, won the annual Church in Wales clergy golf day held at Builth Wells Golf Club, playing in only her third game of the year.
"I have been the only female cleric to play in this and have done so over the last three or more years," Janet said.
"The cup has been mostly won by Bishop Barry Morgan but last year I came second to Rev'd Kevin Cecil. We played a stableford format and although Bishop Barry Morgan and I had the same amount of points I scored more of my points on the 'back nine' holes, putting me in first place."
Janet will now lead the Church in Wales team in their match against the Church of England at Radyr Golf Club on September 29.
