Diocese

‘Diocese’ refers to the geographical territory in which a bishop exercises oversight. The Church in Wales is divided into six dioceses each with its own cathedral in which is housed the cathedra (the bishop’s ‘chair’ or ‘throne’).

Diocese comes together to celebrate ordinations

The diocese has come together to celebrate God's calling at our ordinations service in Brecon Cathedral.

Vicky Claridge and Lizbeth Matthews were ordained as deacons, and Sr Sonia Parkin and Darran Hickery were priested, taking the next step in their faithful journey.

The Venerable Dr Barry Wilson was guest preacher.
