Bible celebration an 'an opportunity to experience God's gift of the Word'

An event to celebrate and promote the Bible will take place at St David’s Church in Penllergaer in June.

BibleFest25, organised by the Bible Society in Wales, is a way for individuals, families, and communities to gather, learn about the Bible, and connect with each other.

The event will open with a celebration service and resources will be on display until the closing service. There will also be a forum to discuss and share ideas.

Bishop John said: “The latest reports from the Bible Society on the growth in church attendance by younger generations bears witness to the continuing relevance and importance of the Bible in the life of our churches and communities.

“BibleFest25 is an opportunity to celebrate, discuss and experience God's gift of the Word to His world. There is a lot to encourage us here in our local context and I commend this day to all who are able to attend.”

Vicar of St David’s, Rev’d John Gillibrand, said: “It will be very exciting to welcome the Bible Society to Penllergaer for this very special event. We are looking forward to a wonderful celebration.”
