From the DeanMany of us have enjoyed the last few months of attending the Cathedral to join in worship and receive Holy Communion, alongside listening to the organ and choir. We have been fortunate for our spiritual lives to be fed with the Bread of Life. The last few months have been a gift for us to give thanks for and remember. However, as I reflect and evaluate on our gathering together for public worship, It is important we continue to evaluate the risks to opening the Cathedral, and do all we can to make the necessary precautions. I will be monitoring and reviewing the situation daily over the next few days. While it is always the intention to remain open for worship, if the risks are too high, then we will need to make decisive action to close. Please visit the website and our social media sites for regular updates regarding opening or closing for worship on Sundays at 11am. The Cathedral will remain closed daily to the public. Be assured that I also continually review Sunday 8am services. However, reinstating this in the near future, I regret, is unlikely. We remain committed to the Sunday 8am service, and look forward to reopening as soon as it is practical and safe to do so. Clergy will pray the daily offices from home and not in the Cathedral until further notice. I know you will continue to hold the Cathedral, staff, volunteers and clergy in your prayers as we continually monitor and review in these very challenging and demanding times. With assurance of my prayers. The Dean
