An exhibition celebrating 20 years of Peace Mala will have its grand opening tomorrow.Peace Mala – Creating a More Compassionate World will exhibit Peace Mala’s work over the past two decades on both a local and international scale, collaborating with and centering the diverse community voices of those who have been, and are, involved in the project. The exhibition, at Swansea Museum, will feature multi-media displays, from video recordings and interactive maps to art displays created by primary schools and artefacts from faith and cultural groups."The exhibits that have been produced by our schools, including Christchurch Church in Wales Primary in Swansea, are stunning," Peace Mala founder Pam Evans said. Tomorrow's event will also see the launch of a CD Peace Mala - Music for a More Compassionate World. The CD features compositions by Lee Michael Walton, sung by Steve Balsamo and hundreds of Swansea schoolchildren, many of whom will be performing at the grand opening."I love the work of Peace Mala in starting interfaith conversations," Steve said. "My friend and wonderful composer Lee Michael Walton has a few of his beautiful instrumentals on the album, as well as his Peace Mala anthem that I sing on. On that we are joined by Penllergaer Primary, Swansea, St Joseph’s RC Primary, Clydach, and Ysgol Tan Y Lan Clase, Swansea.""Our purpose is to send out a powerful message of love, friendship and peace to all who share planet Earth. With the vision of Peace Mala, there is hope for a more compassionate and just world," Pam said. The exhibition runs from June 27-July 1 at Swansea Museum. The CD will be available to purchase at the exhibition, or from Bandcamp.com..
