Diocese

‘Diocese’ refers to the geographical territory in which a bishop exercises oversight. The Church in Wales is divided into six dioceses each with its own cathedral in which is housed the cathedra (the bishop’s ‘chair’ or ‘throne’).

DBF Executive Committee

The following volunteer vacancies are currently available within our Diocesan committees. All expenses of office will be reimbursed. Our Diocesan Committees play an important role in strengthening the work throughout the Diocese and supporting our Ministry Areas. Ministry Areas are asked to communicate these vacancies through their AVMs and to encourage expressions of interest.

Purpose: Directors / Trustees of the Diocesan Board of Finance. The DBF Executive is responsible for the operational management of the finances of the Diocese.

Commitment: 5 meetings per annum, including DBF Full Board

Experience / Knowledge: A working knowledge of financial processes and procedures in support of an organisation. An understanding of the communities within the Diocese, and knowledge of church life and its’ funding within the Diocese.

Due to retirements from the Executive, we now have 2 – 3 vacancies which may be filled from across the Diocese.

Current membership consists 2 Lay / 4 Clerical

Gender balance: 0 Female / 6 Male

Consideration is encouraged for both Lay and Female representation.
