Green Minds is Brecon & District Mind’s new ecotherapy project and it is working in collaboration with Brecon Cathedral this year.
The aim of the project is to not only help group participants to maintain and improve their well-being and mental health, but to help enhance the green spaces within the community.
Jess Tanner, community well-being worker at Brecon & District Mind, said: “We hope to be able to assist around the cathedral grounds as well as to help improve the biodiversity of the cathedral by creating a more wildlife friendly area behind the diocesan centre, as well as along some of the plant borders.
“Connection to nature provides us with many health benefits, psychologically, physically and socially and we are grateful for this opportunity to work with the cathedral. We are also looking forward to growing our ecotherapy work in the wider Brecon and District areas too.
“If you would like to donate any compost (organic & peat free) and/or any well-rotted mulch (leaf mould, wood chippings) for the group’s work at the cathedral please let us know as any donations would be gratefully received.”
