‘Peter will be a real asset to our parish and the people we seek to serve’

The Archdeacon of Gower has licensed Peter Davies to the office of Reader in the Parish of South West Gower.

The service has held in Llandewi Church as part of the parish harvest service.

Peter has undertaken the Theology for Life course guided by Canon Ian Rees and Ian Davies both of who were present at the service.

The Warden of Readers Canon Alison Jones presented Peter with his blue scarf while the Archdeacon of Gower presented the licence on behalf of the Archbishop / Bishop of the Diocese of Brecon and Swansea.

For the first time in some years a parish choir came together to sing elements of the service and a blessing over Peter after the licensing ceremony.

Assistant Curate of South West Gower Rev Justin Davies said: “Peter has had a significant ministry as a worship leader in the parish for some years and his new licence will enable him to extend his work across the six churches.

“I’m delighted that Peter has achieved this step in his ministry and I think he will be a real asset to our parish and the people who we seek to serve.”
