The change in the weather didn’t hold back the attendance at Llangyfelach’s Summer Songs of Praise yesterday.
There were 80 people from across the Ministry Area of Tawe Isaf and beyond at the service of praise with voices tuned and ready to sing of God’s praise.
Rev Anthony Porter said: “The service began with a Litany; thanking God for all that is wonderfully abundant in His creation and the love He shows to all His children. We sang praises to a variety of hymns and heard from individuals within the congregation some background information of the hymn writers and music composers. Some offered some personal reflection as to why they selected the hymn for the service.”
- Alleluia! Sing to Jesus
- God is working His purpose out
- Make me a channel of your peace
- Be still for the presence of the Lord
- Here I am, Lord
- To God be the Glory
- As the deer pants for the water
- Such love
- Father I place into your hands
- Praise my soul, The King of Heaven
- The King of love my Shepherd is
- How great Thou art
- Come down, O Love divine
- All my hope on God is founded
- Guide me, O thou great Redeemer
“The singing was amazing and so much energy was used to show our praises to God for the hour and a half we spent together,” Rev Anthony said.
“The service was followed with a time of fellowship; sharing ideas and stories to grow God’s Kingdom, to build new relationships, and to have a well earned cup of tea and coffee with a nice jam doughnut on the side.”
Thanks to Rob Charles for the photographs of the service.
