Ordinations ‘a particular privilege and opportunity to think of discipleship’

The diocese has a new priest and two new deacons after the ordinations service at Brecon Cathedral.

Bronwyn Curnow was ordained as priest and will serve in the Glan Ithon and West Radnor Ministry Area. Sue Rumbelow was ordained Deacon in the Benefice of Gowerton and Llwchwr Ministry Area, Trina Lodge was ordained Deacon in the Beacons and Llyn Safaddan Ministry Area and Aled Lewis, a Deacon from the Diocese of St Davids, was ordained priest and will serve in the Benefice of Tregaron.

Archbishop John, in his opening remarks, said: “For you four today will be a particular joy, a particular nervousness, but also a particular privilege and I hope, for everybody present, it will be an opportunity for you individually to think of your own response to Christ’s call, your own discipleship day by day. How you, by your words and deeds, reveal the truth of the gospel.”

The sermon was preached by the Ven Alan Jevons, Archdeacon of Brecon.
