Opportunity for singers to take part in Brecon Cathedral weekend

This year’s Brecon Cathedral singing weekend will take place in June.

The event is an opportunity for singers with some experience to come to Brecon to form a choir which will rehearse intensively and sing the Cathedral services on Saturday and Sunday.

The music this year includes some 20th Century mini-masterpieces such as the Missa Brevis by Lennox Berkeley and As the Apple Tree, by Robin Walker. Evensong canticles featured are Tomkins’ Fifth Service and Richard Lloyd’s ‘Hereford Service’, and anthems include Parry’s majestic ‘Hear my words’ and William Byrd’s scintillating ‘Sing Joyfully’.

Meals are provided by our the award-winning Pilgrims’ Tearooms, and are included in the cost of the weekend.  All music copies are provided.

The singing weekend takes place from from Friday, June 1 to 1st to Sunday, June 3. For full details of the music and timetable, and to download an application form, click on the following links.
