Ministry area joins forces with community for mountain rescue fund

Pen y Glyn Ministry Area has joined forces with the local community to raise money for Central Beacons Mountain Rescue.

The rescue team lost £250,000 worth of equipment when a fire devastated its headquarters, destroying or severely damaging vehicles and emergency rescue and medical equipment.

At a presentation evening at the Lamb Hotel in Penderyn, £1,440 was handed over to the team – represented by Paul Richards – who thanked all those involved for their fundraising efforts.

At the annual carol singing in the Lamb, a raffle and collection was made and £120 was donated, and the churches of the Pen y Glyn Ministry Area then made donations of £700.

Three people privately made donations Mr & Mrs R & K Thomas £500, Mr T Moreton £100 and Mr & Mrs A&A Jones £20.
