Lay reader Janet Day has completed her action challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Janet, from the Buallt Benefice, along with 450 others from all over the UK, took part in a moonlight hike up Snowdon at midnight on Saturday.
“The charity is expecting to raise £300,000 from this event,” Janet said. “Thanks to the church, my family and friends almost £600 has been raised so far.
“The walk was made even more of a challenge because we only had the light of our head torch to pick the path up and down the mountain. This meant it was especially difficult because you could not pick the best place for your footing. In daylight you have the whole path to choose from.
“The terrain altered from hard stone, to boggy patches, bare slipping wet sections and massive boulders and steps to climb.
“Thanks Macmillan for making me feel safe and valued throughout the whole event.”
