20150909_190516On 8th September, in a service held at Holy Trinity Church Llandrindod, the Churches and Communities in Llandrindod and its surrounding area warmly welcomed the Reverend Jo Penberthy and her husband The Reverend Adrian Legg. Jo was inducted as incumbent to the Benefice of Llandrindod and Adrian was given the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate. In a deeply meaningful service conducted by Bishop John, he based his sermon on the Scripture readings and spoke of new beginnings. 20150909_201821“So if any one is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!”

Jo was welcomed not only by the Churchwardens of the parishes, but also by local representatives from Cytun, the young people and the Town Council. As well as receiving the symbols of her ministry from the churchwardens , she also received a book ‘The Four Graces’ from Cytun containing prayers, reflections and illustrations of the churches in the locality and a book of local walks from the young people.

The Benefice of Llandrindod consists of the Parishes of Llandrindod and Cefnllys with Diserth with Llanyre and Llanfihangel Helygen. This is the first time that these parishes have joined together, and in anticipation of working together a benefice choir was formed which participated in the service. The parishes are eager to work with Jo and are looking forward to the next step in their pilgrimage of being part of a wider Ministry Area in due course.20150909_185937 20150909_190100_2 20150909_185847_4 20150909_193750 20150909_190717 20150909_190516 20150909_184051_1 20150909_184011
