Anna Chaplaincy is a model of ministry to support older people in the community, extending pastoral and spiritual care beyond those in church congregations to anyone in their local community who would like spiritual care, wherever they may live.Anna Chaplains support older people spiritually:They are community based (going where people are, to those in need)They make no distinction between church goers and non-church goers, those of faith or of no faithThey may include family members, carers and care professionals in their careThey are person centred and non-judgementalThey work with churches in the local community (wherever possible)For further information see - https://www.annachaplaincy.org.ukThis is an exciting opportunity to continue development of Anna Chaplaincy to older people in the communities of Crickhowell and Llangynidr.Are you a committed Christian who is passionate about reaching out to older people and sharing God’s love with them?Do you have the skills to:Help meet the spiritual needs of older people wherever they may be, e.g. in residential care, congregations, in their own homes and in the community?Take a lead on services of worship in Care HomesEnhance community-based ways of building ministry and mission among older people?Explore strategies which celebrate the contributions of older people?Lead and support small teams of Anna Friends in fulfilling our mission?Anna Chaplaincy has opportunities and a vision to grow through:Working with already established pastoral visitors and Anna Friend teams, together with local churches, to develop a cohesive and holistic approach to older people pastoral and spiritual careConnecting with staff and relevant agenciesDeveloping our outreach and volunteer baseLearning and development opportunities for the successful applicant, along with mentorshipFlexible part time position: 8 hours per weekReal Living Wage - £11.50 per hourContract Terms: Initially one-year fixed term, subject to future fundingFor an application form, further information or an informal conversation about the role, please contact:Rev Sally Rees on sallyrees50@gmail.comClosing date: 14th July 2023Interviews are likely to take place on 24th or 25th July 2023.
