Campaigners’ path to raising awareness of Fairtrade

Campaigners from Swansea and Gower have been walking along the Wales Coastal Path to raise awareness of the importance of Fairtrade in helping producers around the world work their way out of poverty.

A group of walkers met at The Lamplighter in Bishopston before heading off to Mumbles via Brandy Cove and Caswell. The Lamplighter stocks a variety of Fairtrade goods and serves Kingdom Coffee – a company that shares the ethical values of the shop and funds community projects in South America  – and all coffees are either Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance certified or ethically sourced. Alongside Fairtrade and organic teas and homemade cakes!

The shop is staffed entirely by volunteers, open from Tuesday to mid-day on Saturday. If you are interested in volunteering or simply want to know more about the Community Café, Christian Bookshop and meeting place, that has been serving the community since 1994, then contact Rachael Aka: gowerlamplighter@gmail.com.
