The 100th Gower Show took place on Sunday at Penrice Castle Gower.
A good day weather-wise brought thousands of people onto the showground with the church tent much visited and on occasions filled to capacity as families crowded in for the crafts and puppet shows. There were plenty of displays within the church tent but most important of all was a theme of welcome and hospitality. Music provided by our acoustic music group also set the theme of worship and celebration.
The chaplaincy team was out and about on the field all day talking to exhibitors, trades and visitors alike and their presence has become a much welcomed sight at the show over the years.
The tent was manned by people from parishes across Swansea and the chaplains both lay and ordained came from a number of our Gower Churches.
An excellent day for the church as we got ‘out there’ with people of all ages and backgrounds.
In the evening we finished the day with a Songs of Praise led by the Salvation Army Band featuring some of the favourite hymns from across the Gower Churches.
