The Lord Mayor of Swansea has taken a tour of Faith in Families’ new £1m St Teilo’s development as it nears completion.
Cllr David Hopkins, ward member for Townhill, and his wife and Lady Mayoress Beverley, who is also a councillor for the Landore ward, saw at first hand how the site is being transformed into a state-of-the-art centre for the community, and also visited the Penplas family centre.
“It’s fantastic, what a facility, “ he said. “The area of Portmead and Blaenymaes certainly deserves such a fantastic facility which will be used by the community. I think it’s a brilliant, brilliant venture.”
The Lord Mayor has been a strong supporter of Faith in Families’ work, and praised the dedication of its staff.
“I think they do a fantastic job in the community. As Lord Mayor I’ve been to several events with them and I’ve got to say the behaviour of the children is always outstanding.”
