The Gower Deanery Review Report was considered at the recent Gower Deanery (Ministry Area) conference. The next stage is for Peter Brooks (Acting Area Dean) and Justin Davies (Chair Review Group) to visit all Benefice Councils and PCCs in the Deanery / Ministry Area in September for further discussion at the October Deanery Conference.
The members of the review group felt privileged to have been invited to work on the production of the report, which represents 12 months detailed work. The group wishes to thank those who promptly provided the requested up to date information which has been essential to providing an accurate overview of the current position of the Gower Deanery and enabled group members to make the detailed recommendations contained in this report, which it is felt will enable successful establishment of the Gower Ministry Area.
The review group commended the report which makes a number of recommendations for action by the Deanery Conference.
The final concluding comment says,
“All that we do must be based on continuous prayerful discussion. It is our privilege as baptized members of the Body of Christ’s Church, in this community of Gower, to be his disciples tasked with the joyful responsibility of passing on the Gospel teachings to all who live, work and visit this special thin place where earth and heaven meet. If what we do is not based on Christ’s teachings, making the Gospel message a reality, then all we do is in vain. Prayer, both personal and corporate in our shared worship, must guide us and be the foundation of our loving mission as a ministry area.”
