Applications are invited for the position of a Christian Worker to develop a Youth Ministry within the Church in Wales Gower Ministry Area. The role will be to work with churches, young people and their families in order to help them develop a Christian faith and a relationship with God. This will involve working with schools and churches of all denominations on Gower. The post has been created by the Gower Ministry Area working in partnership with ‘Faith in Families’ (an agency of the Swansea & Brecon Diocesan Board for Social Responsibility).

Genuine Occupational Requirement: Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010 applies to this post with respect to religion. The jobholder must be a communicant Christian within one of the Covenanting Churches in Wales (Church in Wales, Methodist Church, United Reformed Church, Presbyterian Church of Wales, and the Covenanting Baptist Churches).

The post is 37.5 hours per week and will involve evening and weekend work. The position, after a three-month probationary period, is for a minimum of twelve months, and will then continue subject to performance and available funding.

Salary £18 –20k p.a. depending on experience, plus pension. Interviews will take place during weeks of 20 and 27 of February. Start date March 2017
