Diocesan Conference

The Diocesan Conference is made up of people from around the diocese who are elected representatives to take forward the work of the diocese and to implement the decisions made by the Governing Body of the Church in Wales.

The Diocesan Board of Nomination

The Diocesan Nomination Board is elected by the Diocesan Conference for a three year term.  It is responsible for advising the Bishop on the appointment of Incumbents to a Benefice, except when the Bishop suspends the turn of nomination and there is to be an appointment of a ‘Priest in Charge’.  The Nomination Board also elects a lay member of the Board to act as ‘Diocesan Lay Representative’ on the Provincial Nomination Board.  For more on the nomination process please see Chapter VI of Volume 1 of the Constitution of the Church in Wales, website: http://www.churchinwales.org.uk/resources/constitution-handbooks/consitution-of-church-in-wales/

The Electoral College of the Church in Wales

Diocesan Churches and Pastoral Committee

The Standing Committee of the Diocesan Conference

Diocesan Board for Social Responsibility Ltd

The ‘Swansea and Brecon Diocesan Board for Social Responsibility Ltd’ is appointed by the Diocesan Conference for a three year term and includes representatives from each Deanery in the Diocese.  The Board is involved in highlighting issues of social concern within the Diocese.  It is a Registered Charity and works within the Diocese in co-ordination with the Bishop and the Diocesan Board of Finance and is also supported by the Diocesan Mothers Union.  The Board runs a number of Projects on behalf of the Diocese, for more information on the ‘Christian social teaching’ work carried out by the Board please see the Board’s website: http://www.swanseabrecon.org.uk/
